What
Time is Best for Calling in Predators
The best time to call predators is anytime however if I were to choose my favorite times to call it would be 3 hours after sun up and 3 hours before sun down. What's better morning or evening for hunting predators? It’s just a matter of preference, I don't feel that either are better. You can call predators in any time of day so it just depends what you would prefer. I will say the morning is nice because you have the whole day before you but the evening you have to close the deal before it gets dark. In the morning coyotes are continuing the night of hunting and later the day coyotes are waking up and getting started for their evening of hunting. At mid-day coyotes will be bedded down but they don't sleep all day. They are not like humans that sleep 8 hours straight, no its more like cat naps. Which is why I have this theory that 12-1 is a good time to call because they've had their nap in the morning and are ready for a drink or a snack. A dying rabbit is just the snack they like.

Calling at Mid-Day
Coyotes can be called in all day long. In the afternoon they will most likely be bedded down. I've seen coyote bedded in the thick brush and washes but also out in the open. They could be anywhere at mid-day but for the most part they will be under a bush or tree bedded down so you need to hunt the bedding areas and get them out of their beds.
